Sura al-Zukhruf 43:20

وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ مَا عَبَدْنَٰهُم مَّا لَهُم بِذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَ

wa-qālū law shāʾa l-raḥmānu mā ʿabadnāhum mā lahum bidhālika min ʿilmin in hum illā yakhruṣūna

("Ah!") they say, "If it had been the will of (Allah) Most Gracious, we should not have worshipped such (deities)!" Of that they have no knowledge! they do nothing but lie!

Sura al-Zukhruf 43:60

وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَا مِنكُم مَّلَٰٓئِكَةً فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَخْلُفُونَ

wa-law nashāʾu lajaʿalnā minkum malāʾikatan fī l-arḍi yakhlufūna

And if it were Our Will, We could make angels from amongst you, succeeding each other on the earth.
