Sura al-Baqara 2:22

ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ فِرَٰشًا وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بِنَآءً وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَخْرَجَ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ رِزْقًا لَّكُمْ فَلَا تَجْعَلُوا۟ لِلَّـهِ أَندَادًا وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

alladhī jaʿala lakumu l-arḍa firāshan wa-l-samāʾa bināʾan wa-anzala mina l-samāʾi māʾan fa-akhraja bihi mina l-thamarāti rizqan la-kum fa-lā tajʿalū lillāhi andādan wa-antum taʿlamūna

Who has made the earth your couch, and the heavens your canopy; and sent down rain from the heavens; and brought forth therewith Fruits for your sustenance; then set not up rivals unto Allah when ye know (the truth).

Sura al-Baqara 2:31

وَعَلَّمَ ءَادَمَ ٱلْأَسْمَآءَ كُلَّهَا ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُمْ عَلَى ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ فَقَالَ أَنۢبِـُٔونِى بِأَسْمَآءِ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

waʿallama ādama l-asmāʾa kullahā thumma ʿaraḍahum ʿalā l-malāʾikati fa-qāla anbiʾūnī bi-asmāʾi hāʾulāʾi in kuntum ṣādiqīna

And He taught Adam the names of all things; then He placed them before the angels, and said: "Tell me the names of these if ye are right."

Sura al-Baqara 2:255

ٱللَّـهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ لَا تَأْخُذُهُۥ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ لَّهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَىْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَلَا يَـُٔودُهُۥ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ ٱلْعَلِىُّ ٱلْعَظِيمُ

allāhu lā ilāha illā huwa l-ḥayyu l-qayyūmu lā takhudhuhu sinatun wa-lā nawmun lahu mā fī l-samāwāti wa-mā fī l-arḍi man dhā alladhī yashfaʿu ʿindahu illā bi-idhnihi yaʿlamu mā bayna aydīhim wa-mā khalfahum wa-lā yuḥīṭūna bi-shayʾin min ʿilmihi illā bi-mā shāʾa wasiʿa kursīyuhu l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa wa-lā yaʾūduhu ḥifẓuhumā wa-huwa l-ʿaliyyu l-ʿaẓīmu

Allah! There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory).

Sura al-Māʾidah 5:4

يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ مَاذَآ أُحِلَّ لَهُمْ قُلْ أُحِلَّ لَكُمُ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتُ وَمَا عَلَّمْتُم مِّنَ ٱلْجَوَارِحِ مُكَلِّبِينَ تُعَلِّمُونَهُنَّ مِمَّا عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ فَكُلُوا۟ مِمَّآ أَمْسَكْنَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱسْمَ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْهِ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ

yasʾalūnaka mādhā uḥilla lahum qul uḥilla lakumu l-ṭayyibātu wa-mā ʿallamtum mina l-jawāriḥi mukallibīna tuʿallimūnahunna mimmā ʿallamakumu allāhu fa-kulū mimmā amsakna ʿalaykum wa-idhkurū isma allāhi ʿalayhi wa-ittaqū allāha inna allāha sarīʿu l-ḥisābi

They ask thee what is lawful to them (as food). Say: lawful unto you are (all) things good and pure: and what ye have taught your trained hunting animals (to catch) in the manner directed to you by Allah: eat what they catch for you, but pronounce the name of Allah over it: and fear Allah; for Allah is swift in taking account.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:1

ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّـهِ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَجَعَلَ ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ وَٱلنُّورَ ثُمَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِرَبِّهِمْ يَعْدِلُونَ

l-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī khalaqa l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa wa-jaʿala l-ẓulumāti wa-l-nūra thumma lladhīna kafarū bi-rabbihim yaʿdilūna

Praise be Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and made the darkness and the light. Yet those who reject Faith hold (others) as equal, with their Guardian-Lord.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:6

أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن قَرْنٍ مَّكَّنَّٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مَا لَمْ نُمَكِّن لَّكُمْ وَأَرْسَلْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْهِم مِّدْرَارًا وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرَ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهِمْ فَأَهْلَكْنَٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَأَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا ءَاخَرِينَ

a-lam yaraw kam ahlaknā min qablihim min qarnin makkannāhum fī l-arḍi mā lam numakkin la-kum wa-arsalnā l-samāʾa ʿalayhim midrāran wa-jaʿalnā l-anhāra tajrī min taḥtihim fa-ahlaknāhum bi-dhunūbihim wa-anshaʾnā min baʿdihim qarnan ākharīna

See they not how many of those before them We did destroy?- generations We had established on the earth, in strength such as We have not given to you - for whom We poured out rain from the skies in abundance, and gave (fertile) streams flowing beneath their (feet): yet for their sins We destroyed them, and raised in their wake fresh generations (to succeed them).

Sura al-Anʿām 6:73

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَيَوْمَ يَقُولُ كُن فَيَكُونُ قَوْلُهُ ٱلْحَقُّ وَلَهُ ٱلْمُلْكُ يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ عَٰلِمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ وَهُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْخَبِيرُ

wa-huwa alladhī khalaqa l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa bil-ḥaqqi wa-yawma yaqūlu kun fa-yakūnu qawluhu l-ḥaqqu walahu l-mulku yawma yunfakhu fī l-ṣūri ʿālimu l-ghaybi wa-l-shahādati wa-huwa l-ḥakīmu l-khabīru

It is He who created the heavens and the earth in true (proportions): the day He saith, "Be," behold! it is. His word is the truth. His will be the dominion the day the trumpet will be blown. He knoweth the unseen as well as that which is open. For He is the Wise, well acquainted (with all things).

Sura al-Anʿām 6:79

إِنِّى وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّذِى فَطَرَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ حَنِيفًا وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

innī wajjahtu wajhiya lilladhī fatarā l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa ḥanīfan wa-mā anā mina l-mushrikīna

"For me, I have set my face, firmly and truly, towards Him Who created the heavens and the earth, and never shall I give partners to Allah."

Sura al-Anʿām 6:138

وَقَالُوا۟ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أَنْعَٰمٌ وَحَرْثٌ حِجْرٌ لَّا يَطْعَمُهَآ إِلَّا مَن نَّشَآءُ بِزَعْمِهِمْ وَأَنْعَٰمٌ حُرِّمَتْ ظُهُورُهَا وَأَنْعَٰمٌ لَّا يَذْكُرُونَ ٱسْمَ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْهَا ٱفْتِرَآءً عَلَيْهِ سَيَجْزِيهِم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

wa-qālū hādhihi anʿāmun wa-ḥarthun ḥijrun lā yaṭʿamuhā illā man nashāʾu bi-zaʿmihim wa-anʿāmun ḥurrimat ẓuhūruhā wa-anʿāmun lā yadhkurūna isma allāhi ʿalayhā iftirāʾan ʿalayhi sa-yajzīhim bi-mā kānū yaftarūna

And they say that such and such cattle and crops are taboo, and none should eat of them except those whom - so they say - We wish; further, there are cattle forbidden to yoke or burden, and cattle on which, (at slaughter), the name of Allah is not pronounced; - inventions against Allah's name: soon will He requite them for their inventions.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:54

إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ يُغْشِى ٱلَّيْلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ يَطْلُبُهُۥ حَثِيثًا وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ وَٱلنُّجُومَ مُسَخَّرَٰتٍۭ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ أَلَا لَهُ ٱلْخَلْقُ وَٱلْأَمْرُ تَبَارَكَ ٱللَّـهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

inna rabbakumu allāhu alladhī khalaqa l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa fī sittati ayyāmin thumma istawā ʿalā l-ʿarshi yughshī l-layla l-nahāra yaṭlubuhu ḥathīthan wa-l-shamsa wa-l-qamara wa-l-nujūma musakhkharātin bi-amrihi āla lahu l-khalqu wa-l-amru tabāraka allāhu rabbu l-ʿālamīna

Your Guardian-Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and is firmly established on the throne (of authority): He draweth the night as a veil o'er the day, each seeking the other in rapid succession: He created the sun, the moon, and the stars, (all) governed by laws under His command. Is it not His to create and to govern? Blessed be Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds!

Sura Yūnus 10:3

إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ يُدَبِّرُ ٱلْأَمْرَ مَا مِن شَفِيعٍ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ إِذْنِهِۦ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ رَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُوهُ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ

inna rabbakumu allāhu alladhī khalaqa l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa fī sittati ayyāmin thumma istawā ʿalā l-ʿarshi yudabbiru l-amra mā min shafīʿin illā min baʿdi idhnihi dhālikumu allāhu rabbukum fa-iʿbudūhu a-fa-lā tadhakkarūna

Verily your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and is firmly established on the throne (of authority), regulating and governing all things. No intercessor (can plead with Him) except after His leave (hath been obtained). This is Allah your Lord; Him therefore serve ye: will ye not receive admonition?

Sura Hūd 11:52

وَيَٰقَوْمِ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا وَيَزِدْكُمْ قُوَّةً إِلَىٰ قُوَّتِكُمْ وَلَا تَتَوَلَّوْا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ

wa-yā-qawmi istaghfirū rabbakum thumma tūbū ilayhi yursili l-samāʾa ʿalaykum midrāran wa-yazidkum quwwatan ilā quwwatikum wa-lā tatawallaw mujrimīna

"And O my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him (in repentance): He will send you the skies pouring abundant rain, and add strength to your strength: so turn ye not back in sin!"

Sura Yūsuf 12:40

مَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَسْمَآءً سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَٰنٍ إِنِ ٱلْحُكْمُ إِلَّا لِلَّـهِ أَمَرَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِيَّاهُ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلْقَيِّمُ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

mā taʿbudūna min dūnihi illā asmāʾan sammaytumūhā antum wa-ābāukum mā anzala allāhu bihā min sulṭānin ini l-ḥukmu illā lillāhi amara allā taʿbudū illā iyyāhu dhālika l-dīnu l-qayyimu wa-lākinna akthara l-nāsi lā yaʿlamūna

"If not Him, ye worship nothing but names which ye have named,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah hath sent down no authority: the command is for none but Allah: He hath commanded that ye worship none but Him: that is the right religion, but most men understand not...

Sura al-Isrāʾ 17:92

أَوْ تُسْقِطَ ٱلسَّمَآءَ كَمَا زَعَمْتَ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا أَوْ تَأْتِىَ بِٱللَّـهِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ قَبِيلًا

aw tusqiṭa l-samāʾa ka-mā zaʿamta ʿalaynā kisafan aw taʾtiya billāhi wa-l-malāʾikati qabīlan

"Or thou cause the sky to fall in pieces, as thou sayest (will happen), against us; or thou bring Allah and the angels before (us) face to face:

Sura Maryam 19:7

يَٰزَكَرِيَّآ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ ٱسْمُهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ لَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ سَمِيًّا

yāzakarīyā innā nubashshiruka bi-ghulāmin ismuhu yaḥyā lam najʿal lahu min qablu samiyyan

(His prayer was answered): "O Zakariya! We give thee good news of a son: His name shall be Yahya: on none by that name have We conferred distinction before."

Sura Maryam 19:65

رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَٱعْبُدْهُ وَٱصْطَبِرْ لِعِبَٰدَتِهِۦ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُۥ سَمِيًّا

rrabbu l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi wa-mā baynahumā fa-iʿbudhu wa-iṣṭabir li-ʿibādatihi hal taʿlamu lahu samiyyan

"Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and of all that is between them; so worship Him, and be constant and patient in His worship: knowest thou of any who is worthy of the same Name as He?"

Sura Ṭā Hā 20:4

تَنزِيلًا مِّمَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ ٱلْعُلَى

tanzīlan mimman khalaqa l-arḍa wa-l-samāwāti l-ʿulā

A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high.

Sura al-Anbiyāʾ 21:16

وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ

wa-mā khalaqnā l-samāʾa wa-l-arḍa wa-mā baynahumā lāʿibīna

Not for (idle) sport did We create the heavens and the earth and all that is between!

Sura al-Anbiyāʾ 21:32

وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ سَقْفًا مَّحْفُوظًا وَهُمْ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِهَا مُعْرِضُونَ

wa-jaʿalnā l-samāʾa saqfan maḥfūẓan wa-hum ʿan āyātihā muʿriḍūna

And We have made the heavens as a canopy well guarded: yet do they turn away from the Signs which these things (point to)!

Sura al-Anbiyāʾ 21:104

يَوْمَ نَطْوِى ٱلسَّمَآءَ كَطَىِّ ٱلسِّجِلِّ لِلْكُتُبِ كَمَا بَدَأْنَآ أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍ نُّعِيدُهُۥ وَعْدًا عَلَيْنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ

yawma naṭwī l-samāʾa kaṭayyi l-sijilli lil-kutubi ka-mā badaʾnā awwala khalqin nnuʿīduhu waʿdan ʿalaynā innā kunnā fāʿilīna

The Day that We roll up the heavens like a scroll rolled up for books (completed),- even as We produced the first creation, so shall We produce a new one: a promise We have undertaken: truly shall We fulfil it.

Sura al-Ḥajj 22:28

لِّيَشْهَدُوا۟ مَنَٰفِعَ لَهُمْ وَيَذْكُرُوا۟ ٱسْمَ ٱللَّـهِ فِىٓ أَيَّامٍ مَّعْلُومَٰتٍ عَلَىٰ مَا رَزَقَهُم مِّنۢ بَهِيمَةِ ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ فَكُلُوا۟ مِنْهَا وَأَطْعِمُوا۟ ٱلْبَآئِسَ ٱلْفَقِيرَ

li-yashhadū manāfiʿa lahum wa-yadhkurū isma allāhi fī ayyāmin maʿlūmātin ʿalā mā razaqahum min bahīmati l-anʿāmi fa-kulū minhā wa-aṭʿimū l-bāʾisa l-faqīra

"That they may witness the benefits (provided) for them, and celebrate the name of Allah, through the Days appointed, over the cattle which He has provided for them (for sacrifice): then eat ye thereof and feed the distressed ones in want.

Sura al-Ḥajj 22:34

وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ جَعَلْنَا مَنسَكًا لِّيَذْكُرُوا۟ ٱسْمَ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَىٰ مَا رَزَقَهُم مِّنۢ بَهِيمَةِ ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ فَإِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ فَلَهُۥٓ أَسْلِمُوا۟ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلْمُخْبِتِينَ

wa-likulli ummatin jaʿalnā mansakan li-yadhkurū isma allāhi ʿalā mā razaqahum min bahīmati l-anʿāmi fa-ilāhukum ilāhun wāḥidun falahu aslimū wa-bashshiri l-mukhbitīna

To every people did We appoint rites (of sacrifice), that they might celebrate the name of Allah over the sustenance He gave them from animals (fit for food). But your god is One God: submit then your wills to Him (in Islam): and give thou the good news to those who humble themselves,-

Sura al-Ḥajj 22:36

وَٱلْبُدْنَ جَعَلْنَٰهَا لَكُم مِّن شَعَٰٓئِرِ ٱللَّـهِ لَكُمْ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ فَٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱسْمَ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْهَا صَوَآفَّ فَإِذَا وَجَبَتْ جُنُوبُهَا فَكُلُوا۟ مِنْهَا وَأَطْعِمُوا۟ ٱلْقَانِعَ وَٱلْمُعْتَرَّ كَذَٰلِكَ سَخَّرْنَٰهَا لَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

wa-l-budna jaʿalnāhā la-kum min shaʿāʾiri allāhi la-kum fīhā khayrun fa-idhkurū isma allāhi ʿalayhā ṣawāffa fa-idhā wajabat junūbuhā fa-kulū minhā wa-aṭʿimū l-qāniʿa wa-l-muʿtarra ka-dhālika sakhkharnāhā la-kum la-ʿallakum tashkurūna

The sacrificial camels we have made for you as among the symbols from Allah: in them is (much) good for you: then pronounce the name of Allah over them as they line up (for sacrifice): when they are down on their sides (after slaughter), eat ye thereof, and feed such as (beg not but) live in contentment, and such as beg with due humility: thus have We made animals subject to you, that ye may be grateful.

Sura al-Ḥajj 22:65

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱلْفُلْكَ تَجْرِى فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ بِأَمْرِهِۦ وَيُمْسِكُ ٱلسَّمَآءَ أَن تَقَعَ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ بِٱلنَّاسِ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ

a-lam tara annā allāha sakhkhara la-kum mā fī l-arḍi wa-l-fulka tajrī fī l-baḥri bi-amrihi wa-yumsiku l-samāʾa an taqaʿa ʿalā l-arḍi illā bi-idhnihi inna allāha bil-nāsi la-raʾūfun raḥīmun

Seest thou not that Allah has made subject to you (men) all that is on the earth, and the ships that sail through the sea by His Command? He withholds the sky (rain) from failing on the earth except by His leave: for Allah is Most Kind and Most Merciful to man.

Sura al-ʿAnkabūt 29:44

خَلَقَ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

khalaqa allāhu l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa bil-ḥaqqi inna fī dhālika la-āyatan lil-muʾminīna

Allah created the heavens and the earth in true (proportions): verily in that is a Sign for those who believe.

Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:6

إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ

innā zayyannā l-samāʾa l-dunyā bizīnatin l-kawākibi

We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,-

Sura Ṣād 38:27

وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا بَٰطِلًا ذَٰلِكَ ظَنُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ

wa-mā khalaqnā l-samāʾa wa-l-arḍa wa-mā baynahumā bāṭilan dhālika ẓannu lladhīna kafarū fa-waylun li-lladhīna kafarū mina l-nāri

Not without purpose did We create heaven and earth and all between! that were the thought of Unbelievers! but woe to the Unbelievers because of the Fire (of Hell)!

Sura al-Ghāfir 40:64

ٱللَّـهُ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ قَرَارًا وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بِنَآءً وَصَوَّرَكُمْ فَأَحْسَنَ صُوَرَكُمْ وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ رَبُّكُمْ فَتَبَارَكَ ٱللَّـهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

allāhu alladhī jaʿala lakumu l-arḍa qarāran wa-l-samāʾa bināʾan wa-ṣawwarakum fa-aḥsana ṣuwarakum wa-razaqakum mina l-ṭayyibāti dhālikumu allāhu rabbukum fa-tabāraka allāhu rabbu l-ʿālamīna

It is Allah Who has made for you the earth as a resting place, and the sky as a canopy, and has given you shape- and made your shapes beautiful,- and has provided for you Sustenance, of things pure and good;- such is Allah your Lord. So Glory to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds!

Sura Fuṣṣilat 41:12

فَقَضَىٰهُنَّ سَبْعَ سَمَٰوَاتٍ فِى يَوْمَيْنِ وَأَوْحَىٰ فِى كُلِّ سَمَآءٍ أَمْرَهَا وَزَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِمَصَٰبِيحَ وَحِفْظًا ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْعَلِيمِ

fa-qaḍāhunna sabʿa samāwātin fī yawmayni wa-awḥa fī kulli samāʾin amrahā wa-zayyannā l-samāʾa l-dunyā bi-maṣābīḥa wa-ḥifẓan dhālika taqdīru l-ʿazīzi l-ʿalīmi

So He completed them as seven firmaments in two Days, and He assigned to each heaven its duty and command. And We adorned the lower heaven with lights, and (provided it) with guard. Such is the Decree of (Him) the Exalted in Might, Full of Knowledge.

Sura al-Dukhān 44:38

وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ

wa-mā khalaqnā l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa wa-mā baynahumā lāʿibīna

We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport:

Sura al-Jāthiyah 45:22

وَخَلَقَ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلِتُجْزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ

wa-khalaqa allāhu l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa bil-ḥaqqi wa-li-tujzā kullu nafsin bi-mā kasabat wa-hum lā yuẓlamūna

Allah created the heavens and the earth for just ends, and in order that each soul may find the recompense of what it has earned, and none of them be wronged.

Sura al-Dhāriyāt 51:47

وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيْنَٰهَا بِأَيْي۟دٍ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ

wa-l-samāʾa banaynāhā bi-ayydin wa-innā lamūsiʿūna

With power and skill did We construct the Firmament: for it is We Who create the vastness of pace.

Sura al-Ṭūr 52:36

أَمْ خَلَقُوا۟ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ

am khalaqū l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa bal lā yūqinūna

Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they have no firm belief.

Sura al-Najm 53:27

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْأَخِرَةِ لَيُسَمُّونَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ تَسْمِيَةَ ٱلْأُنثَىٰ

inna lladhīna lā yuʾminūna bil-akhirati la-yusammūna l-malāikata tasmiyata l-unthā

Those who believe not in the Hereafter, name the angels with female names.

Sura al-Raḥmān 55:7

وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلْمِيزَانَ

wa-l-samāʾa rafaʿahā wa-waḍaʿa l-mīzāna

And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice),

Sura al-Ḥadīd 57:4

هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ يَعْلَمُ مَا يَلِجُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْهَا وَمَا يَنزِلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا يَعْرُجُ فِيهَا وَهُوَ مَعَكُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ وَٱللَّـهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ

huwa alladhī khalaqa l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa fī sittati ayyāmin thumma istawā ʿalā l-ʿarshi yaʿlamu mā yaliju fī l-arḍi wa-mā yakhruju minhā wa-mā yanzilu mina l-samāʾi wa-mā yaʿruju fīhā wa-huwa maʿakum ayna mā kuntum wallāhu bi-mā taʿmalūna baṣīrun

He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in Six Days, and is moreover firmly established on the Throne (of Authority). He knows what enters within the earth and what comes forth out of it, what comes down from heaven and what mounts up to it. And He is with you wheresoever ye may be. And Allah sees well all that ye do.

Sura al-Taghābun 64:3

خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَصَوَّرَكُمْ فَأَحْسَنَ صُوَرَكُمْ وَإِلَيْهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ

khalaqa l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa bil-ḥaqqi wa-ṣawwarakum fa-aḥsana ṣuwarakum wa-ilayhi l-maṣīru

He has created the heavens and the earth in just proportions, and has given you shape, and made your shapes beautiful: and to Him is the final Goal.

Sura al-Mulk 67:5

وَلَقَدْ زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِمَصَٰبِيحَ وَجَعَلْنَٰهَا رُجُومًا لِّلشَّيَٰطِينِ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلسَّعِيرِ

wa-la-qad zayyannā l-samāʾa l-dunyā bi-maṣābīḥa wa-jaʿalnāhā rujūman lil-shayāṭīni wa-aʿtadnā lahum ʿadhāba l-saʿīri

And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire.

Sura Nūḥ 71:11

يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا

yursili l-samāʾa ʿalaykum midrāran

"'He will send rain to you in abundance;

Sura al-Jinn 72:8

وَأَنَّا لَمَسْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ فَوَجَدْنَٰهَا مُلِئَتْ حَرَسًا شَدِيدًا وَشُهُبًا

wa-annā lamasnā l-samāʾa fa-wajadnāhā muliʾat ḥarasan shadīdan wa-shuhuban

'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires.

Sura al-Muzzammil 73:8

وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًا

wa-idhkuri isma rabbika wa-tabattal ilayhi tabtīlan

But keep in remembrance the name of thy Lord and devote thyself to Him whole-heartedly.

Sura al-Insān 76:25

وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا

wa-idhkuri isma rabbika bukratan wa-aṣīlan

And celebrate the name of thy Lord morning and evening,

Sura al-Aʿlā 87:1

سَبِّحِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلْأَعْلَى

sabbiḥi isma rabbika al-aʿla

Glorify the name of thy Guardian-Lord Most High,

Sura al-Aʿlā 87:15

وَذَكَرَ ٱسْمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ

wa-dhakara isma rabbihi fa-ṣallā

And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer.
