Sura al-Baqara 2:31

وَعَلَّمَ ءَادَمَ ٱلْأَسْمَآءَ كُلَّهَا ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُمْ عَلَى ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ فَقَالَ أَنۢبِـُٔونِى بِأَسْمَآءِ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

waʿallama ādama l-asmāʾa kullahā thumma ʿaraḍahum ʿalā l-malāʾikati fa-qāla anbiʾūnī bi-asmāʾi hāʾulāʾi in kuntum ṣādiqīna

And He taught Adam the names of all things; then He placed them before the angels, and said: "Tell me the names of these if ye are right."

Sura al-Baqara 2:33

قَالَ يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ أَنۢبِئْهُم بِأَسْمَآئِهِمْ فَلَمَّآ أَنۢبَأَهُم بِأَسْمَآئِهِمْ قَالَ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكُمْ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ غَيْبَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَأَعْلَمُ مَا تُبْدُونَ وَمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْتُمُونَ

qalā yā-ʾādamu anbihum bi-asmāʾihim fa-lammā anbāʾahum bi-asmāʾihim qalā a-lam aqul la-kum innī aʿlamu ghayba l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi wa-iʿlamū mā tubdūna wa-mā kuntum taktumūna

He said: "O Adam! Tell them their names." When he had told them, Allah said: "Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of heaven and earth, and I know what ye reveal and what ye conceal?"

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:71

قَالَ قَدْ وَقَعَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ رِجْسٌ وَغَضَبٌ أَتُجَٰدِلُونَنِى فِىٓ أَسْمَآءٍ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّـهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَٰنٍ فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ

qalā qad waqaʿa ʿalaykum min rabbikum rijsun wa-ghaḍabun a-tujādilūnanī fī asmāʾin sammaytumūhā antum wa-ābāukum mā nazzala allāhu bihā min sulṭānin fa-intaẓirū innī maʿakum mina l-muntaẓirīna

He said: "Punishment and wrath have already come upon you from your Lord: dispute ye with me over names which ye have devised - ye and your fathers,- without authority from Allah? then wait: I am amongst you, also waiting."

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:180

وَلِلَّەِ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ فَٱدْعُوهُ بِهَا وَذَرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِىٓ أَسْمَٰٓئِهِۦ سَيُجْزَوْنَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

wa-lillahi l-asmāʾu l-ḥusnā fa-idʿūhu bihā wa-dharū lladhīna yulḥidūna fī asmāʾihi sa-yujzawna mā kānū yaʿmalūna

The most beautiful names belong to Allah: so call on him by them; but shun such men as use profanity in his names: for what they do, they will soon be requited.

Sura Yūsuf 12:40

مَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَسْمَآءً سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَٰنٍ إِنِ ٱلْحُكْمُ إِلَّا لِلَّـهِ أَمَرَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِيَّاهُ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلْقَيِّمُ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

mā taʿbudūna min dūnihi illā asmāʾan sammaytumūhā antum wa-ābāukum mā anzala allāhu bihā min sulṭānin ini l-ḥukmu illā lillāhi amara allā taʿbudū illā iyyāhu dhālika l-dīnu l-qayyimu wa-lākinna akthara l-nāsi lā yaʿlamūna

"If not Him, ye worship nothing but names which ye have named,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah hath sent down no authority: the command is for none but Allah: He hath commanded that ye worship none but Him: that is the right religion, but most men understand not...

Sura al-Isrāʾ 17:110

قُلِ ٱدْعُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ أَوِ ٱدْعُوا۟ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنَ أَيًّا مَّا تَدْعُوا۟ فَلَهُ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ وَلَا تَجْهَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ وَلَا تُخَافِتْ بِهَا وَٱبْتَغِ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ سَبِيلًا

quli idʿū allāha awi idʿū l-raḥmāna ayyan mā tadʿū falahu l-asmāʾu l-ḥusnā wa-lā tajhar bi-ṣalātika wa-lā tukhāfit bihā wa-ibtaghi bayna dhālika sabīlan

Say: "Call upon Allah, or call upon Rahman: by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well): for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names. Neither speak thy Prayer aloud, nor speak it in a low tone, but seek a middle course between."

Sura Ṭā Hā 20:8

ٱللَّـهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ لَهُ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ

allāhu lā ilāha illā huwa lahu l-asmāʾu l-ḥusnā

Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the most Beautiful Names.

Sura al-Najm 53:23

إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّآ أَسْمَآءٌ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَٰنٍ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهْوَى ٱلْأَنفُسُ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ

in hiya illā asmāʾun sammaytumūhā antum wa-ābāukum mā anzala allāhu bihā min sulṭānin in yattabiʿūna illā l-ẓanna wa-mā tahwā l-anfusu wa-la-qad jāʾahum min rrabbihimu l-hudā

These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord!

Sura al-Ḥashr 59:24

هُوَ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلْخَٰلِقُ ٱلْبَارِئُ ٱلْمُصَوِّرُ لَهُ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

huwa allāhu l-khāliqu l-bāriu l-muṣawwiru lahu l-asmāʾu l-ḥusnā yusabbiḥu lahu mā fī l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi wa-huwa l-ʿazīzu l-ḥakīmu

He is Allah, the Creator, the Evolver, the Bestower of Forms (or Colours). To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names: whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare His Praises and Glory: and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
