(2:69) | قَالُوا۟ ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّن لَّنَا مَا لَوْنُهَا قَالَ إِنَّهُۥ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ صَفْرَآءُ فَاقِعٌ لَّوْنُهَا تَسُرُّ ٱلنَّٰظِرِينَ | qālū idʿu la‑nā rabbaka yubayyin lanā mā lawnuhā qalā innahu yaqūlu innahā baqaratun ṣafrāʾu fāqiʿun lawnuhā tasurru l‑nāẓirīna | They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us
Her colour." He said: "He says: A fawn-coloured heifer, pure and rich in
tone, the admiration of beholders!"
Sura al-Baqara 2:69 قَالُوا۟ ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّن لَّنَا مَا لَوْنُهَا قَالَ إِنَّهُۥ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ صَفْرَآءُ فَاقِعٌ لَّوْنُهَا تَسُرُّ ٱلنَّٰظِرِينَ qālū idʿu la-nā rabbaka yubayyin lanā mā lawnuhā qalā innahu yaqūlu innahā baqaratun ṣafrāʾu fāqiʿun lawnuhā tasurru l-nāẓirīna They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us Her colour." He said: "He says: A fawn-coloured heifer, pure and rich in tone, the admiration of beholders!" |
(2:77) | أَوَلَا يَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ | awalā yaʿlamūna annā allāha yaʿlamu mā yusirrūna wa‑mā yuʿlinūna | Know they not that Allah knoweth what they conceal and what they
reveal?
Sura al-Baqara 2:77 أَوَلَا يَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ awalā yaʿlamūna annā allāha yaʿlamu mā yusirrūna wa-mā yuʿlinūna Know they not that Allah knoweth what they conceal and what they reveal? |
(5:52) | فَتَرَى ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِيهِمْ يَقُولُونَ نَخْشَىٰٓ أَن تُصِيبَنَا دَآئِرَةٌ فَعَسَى ٱللَّـهُ أَن يَأْتِىَ بِٱلْفَتْحِ أَوْ أَمْرٍ مِّنْ عِندِهِۦ فَيُصْبِحُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَسَرُّوا۟ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ نَٰدِمِينَ | fatarā lladhīna fī qulūbihim maraḍun yusāriʿūna fīhim yaqūlūna nakhsha an tuṣībanā dāʾiratun fa‑ʿaṣā allāhu an yaʾtiya bil‑fatḥi aw amrin min ʿindihi fa‑yuṣbiḥū ʿalā mā asarrū fī anfusihim nādimīna | Those in whose hearts is a disease - thou seest how eagerly
they run about amongst them, saying: "We do fear lest a change of fortune
bring us disaster." Ah! perhaps Allah will give (thee) victory, or a decision
according to His will. Then will they repent of the thoughts which they
secretly harboured in their hearts.
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:52 فَتَرَى ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِيهِمْ يَقُولُونَ نَخْشَىٰٓ أَن تُصِيبَنَا دَآئِرَةٌ فَعَسَى ٱللَّـهُ أَن يَأْتِىَ بِٱلْفَتْحِ أَوْ أَمْرٍ مِّنْ عِندِهِۦ فَيُصْبِحُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَسَرُّوا۟ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ نَٰدِمِينَ fatarā lladhīna fī qulūbihim maraḍun yusāriʿūna fīhim yaqūlūna nakhsha an tuṣībanā dāʾiratun fa-ʿaṣā allāhu an yaʾtiya bil-fatḥi aw amrin min ʿindihi fa-yuṣbiḥū ʿalā mā asarrū fī anfusihim nādimīna Those in whose hearts is a disease - thou seest how eagerly they run about amongst them, saying: "We do fear lest a change of fortune bring us disaster." (10:54) | وَلَوْ أَنَّ لِكُلِّ نَفْسٍ ظَلَمَتْ مَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ لَٱفْتَدَتْ بِهِۦ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّدَامَةَ لَمَّا رَأَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ وَقُضِىَ بَيْنَهُم بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ | wa‑law annā li‑kulli nafsin ẓalamat mā fī l‑arḍi la‑iftadat bihi wa‑asarrū l‑nadāmata lammā raʾawu l‑ʿadhāba wa‑quḍiya baynahum bil‑qisṭi wa‑hum lā yuẓlamūna | Every soul that hath sinned, if it possessed all that is on
earth, would fain give it in ransom: They would declare (their) repentance
when they see the penalty: but the judgment between them will be with
justice, and no wrong will be done unto them.
Sura Yūnus 10:54 وَلَوْ أَنَّ لِكُلِّ نَفْسٍ ظَلَمَتْ مَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ لَٱفْتَدَتْ بِهِۦ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّدَامَةَ لَمَّا رَأَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ وَقُضِىَ بَيْنَهُم بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ wa-law annā li-kulli nafsin ẓalamat mā fī l-arḍi la-iftadat bihi wa-asarrū l-nadāmata lammā raʾawu l-ʿadhāba wa-quḍiya baynahum bil-qisṭi wa-hum lā yuẓlamūna Every soul that hath sinned, if it possessed all that is on earth, would fain give it in ransom: They would declare (their) repentance when they see the penalty: but the judgment between them will be with justice, and no wrong will be done unto them. |
(11:5) | أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ يَثْنُونَ صُدُورَهُمْ لِيَسْتَخْفُوا۟ مِنْهُ أَلَا حِينَ يَسْتَغْشُونَ ثِيَابَهُمْ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ | āla innahum yathnūna ṣudūrahum li‑yastakhfū minhu āla ḥīna yastaghshūna thiyābahum yaʿlamu mā yusirrūna wa‑mā yuʿlinūna innahu ʿalīmun bi‑dhāti l‑ṣudūri | Behold! they fold up their hearts, that they may lie hid from
Him! Ah even when they cover themselves with their garments, He knoweth
what they conceal, and what they reveal: for He knoweth well the (inmost
secrets) of the hearts.
Sura Hūd 11:5 أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ يَثْنُونَ صُدُورَهُمْ لِيَسْتَخْفُوا۟ مِنْهُ أَلَا حِينَ يَسْتَغْشُونَ ثِيَابَهُمْ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ āla innahum yathnūna ṣudūrahum li-yastakhfū minhu āla ḥīna yastaghshūna thiyābahum yaʿlamu mā yusirrūna wa-mā yuʿlinūna innahu ʿalīmun bi-dhāti l-ṣudūri Behold! they fold up their hearts, that they may lie hid from Him! Ah even when they cover themselves with their garments, He knoweth what they conceal, and what they reveal: for He knoweth well the (inmost secrets) of the hearts. |
(12:19) | وَجَآءَتْ سَيَّارَةٌ فَأَرْسَلُوا۟ وَارِدَهُمْ فَأَدْلَىٰ دَلْوَهُۥ قَالَ يَٰبُشْرَىٰ هَٰذَا غُلَٰمٌ وَأَسَرُّوهُ بِضَٰعَةً وَٱللَّـهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ | wa‑jāʾat sayyāratun fa‑arsalū wāridahum fa‑adlā dalwahu qalā yābushra hādhā ghulāmun wa‑asarrūhu biḍāʿatan wallāhu ʿalīmun bi‑mā yaʿmalūna | Then there came a caravan of travellers: they sent their
water-carrier (for water), and he let down his bucket (into the well)...He
said: "Ah there! Good news! Here is a (fine) young man!" So they concealed
him as a treasure! But Allah knoweth well all that they do!
Sura Yūsuf 12:19 وَجَآءَتْ سَيَّارَةٌ فَأَرْسَلُوا۟ وَارِدَهُمْ فَأَدْلَىٰ دَلْوَهُۥ قَالَ يَٰبُشْرَىٰ هَٰذَا غُلَٰمٌ وَأَسَرُّوهُ بِضَٰعَةً وَٱللَّـهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ wa-jāʾat sayyāratun fa-arsalū wāridahum fa-adlā dalwahu qalā yābushra hādhā ghulāmun wa-asarrūhu biḍāʿatan wallāhu ʿalīmun bi-mā yaʿmalūna Then there came a caravan of travellers: they sent their water-carrier (for water), and he let down his bucket (into the well)...He said: "Ah there! Good news! Here is a (fine) young man!" So they concealed him as a treasure! But Allah knoweth well all that they do! |
(12:77) | قَالُوٓا۟ إِن يَسْرِقْ فَقَدْ سَرَقَ أَخٌ لَّهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ فَأَسَرَّهَا يُوسُفُ فِى نَفْسِهِۦ وَلَمْ يُبْدِهَا لَهُمْ قَالَ أَنتُمْ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَٱللَّـهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَصِفُونَ | qālū in yasriq fa‑qad saraqa akhun lahu min qablu fa‑asarrahā yūsufu fī nafsihi wa‑lam yubdihā lahum qalā antum sharrun makānan wallāhu aʿlamu bi‑mā taṣifūna | They said: "If he steals, there was a brother of his who did
steal before (him)." But these things did Joseph keep locked in his heart,
revealing not the secrets to them. He (simply) said (to himself): "Ye are
the worse situated; and Allah knoweth best the truth of what ye assert!"
Sura Yūsuf 12:77 قَالُوٓا۟ إِن يَسْرِقْ فَقَدْ سَرَقَ أَخٌ لَّهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ فَأَسَرَّهَا يُوسُفُ فِى نَفْسِهِۦ وَلَمْ يُبْدِهَا لَهُمْ قَالَ أَنتُمْ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَٱللَّـهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَصِفُونَ qālū in yasriq fa-qad saraqa akhun lahu min qablu fa-asarrahā yūsufu fī nafsihi wa-lam yubdihā lahum qalā antum sharrun makānan wallāhu aʿlamu bi-mā taṣifūna They said: "If he steals, there was a brother of his who did steal before (him)." But these things did Joseph keep locked in his heart, revealing not the secrets to them. He (simply) said (to himself): "Ye are the worse situated; and Allah knoweth best the truth of what ye assert!" |
(13:10) | سَوَآءٌ مِّنكُم مَّنْ أَسَرَّ ٱلْقَوْلَ وَمَن جَهَرَ بِهِۦ وَمَنْ هُوَ مُسْتَخْفٍۭ بِٱلَّيْلِ وَسَارِبٌۢ بِٱلنَّهَارِ | sawāʾun minkum man asarra l‑qawla wa‑man jahara bihi wa‑man huwa mustakhfin bil‑layli wa‑sāribun bil‑nahāri | It is the same (to Him) whether any of you conceal his speech
or declare it openly; whether he lie hid by night or walk forth freely by
day.
Sura al-Raʿd 13:10 سَوَآءٌ مِّنكُم مَّنْ أَسَرَّ ٱلْقَوْلَ وَمَن جَهَرَ بِهِۦ وَمَنْ هُوَ مُسْتَخْفٍۭ بِٱلَّيْلِ وَسَارِبٌۢ بِٱلنَّهَارِ sawāʾun minkum man asarra l-qawla wa-man jahara bihi wa-man huwa mustakhfin bil-layli wa-sāribun bil-nahāri It is the same (to Him) whether any of you conceal his speech or declare it openly; whether he lie hid by night or walk forth freely by day. |
(16:23) | لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَ | lā jarama annā allāha yaʿlamu mā yusirrūna wa‑mā yuʿlinūna innahu lā yuḥibbu l‑mustakbirīna | Undoubtedly Allah doth know what they conceal, and what they
reveal: verily He loveth not the arrogant.
Sura al-Naḥl 16:23 لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَ lā jarama annā allāha yaʿlamu mā yusirrūna wa-mā yuʿlinūna innahu lā yuḥibbu l-mustakbirīna Undoubtedly Allah doth know what they conceal, and what they reveal: verily He loveth not the arrogant. |
(20:62) | فَتَنَٰزَعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّجْوَىٰ | fa‑tanāzaʿū amrahum baynahum wa‑asarrū l‑najwā | So they disputed, one with another, over their affair, but
they kept their talk secret.
Sura Ṭā Hā 20:62 فَتَنَٰزَعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّجْوَىٰ fa-tanāzaʿū amrahum baynahum wa-asarrū l-najwā So they disputed, one with another, over their affair, but they kept their talk secret. |
(21:3) | لَاهِيَةً قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّجْوَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ هَلْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ أَفَتَأْتُونَ ٱلسِّحْرَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ | lāḥiyatan qulūbuhum wa‑asarrū l‑najwā lladhīna ẓalamū hal hādhā illā basharun mithlukum a‑fa‑taʾtūna l‑siḥra wa‑antum tubṣirūna | Their hearts toying as with trifles. The wrong-doers conceal
their private counsels, (saying), "Is this (one) more than a man like
yourselves? Will ye go to witchcraft with your eyes open?"
Sura al-Anbiyāʾ 21:3 لَاهِيَةً قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّجْوَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ هَلْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ أَفَتَأْتُونَ ٱلسِّحْرَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ lāḥiyatan qulūbuhum wa-asarrū l-najwā lladhīna ẓalamū hal hādhā illā basharun mithlukum a-fa-taʾtūna l-siḥra wa-antum tubṣirūna Their hearts toying as with trifles. The wrong-doers conceal their private counsels, (saying), "Is this (one) more than a man like yourselves? Will ye go to witchcraft with your eyes open?" |
(34:33) | وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتُضْعِفُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ بَلْ مَكْرُ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذْ تَأْمُرُونَنَآ أَن نَّكْفُرَ بِٱللَّـهِ وَنَجْعَلَ لَهُۥٓ أَندَادًا وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّدَامَةَ لَمَّا رَأَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلْأَغْلَٰلَ فِىٓ أَعْنَاقِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ | wa‑qāla lladhīna istuḍʿifū li‑lladhīna istakbarū bal makru l‑layli wa‑l‑nahāri idh taʾmurūnanā an nnakfura billāhi wa‑najʿala lahu andādan wa‑asarrū l‑nadāmata lammā raʾawu l‑ʿadhāba wa‑jaʿalnā l‑aghlāla fī aʿnāqi lladhīna kafarū hal yujzawna illā mā kānū yaʿmalūna | Those who had been despised will say to the arrogant ones:
"Nay! it was a plot (of yours) by day and by night: Behold! Ye (constantly)
ordered us to be ungrateful to Allah and to attribute equals to Him!" They
will declare (their) repentance when they see the Penalty: We shall put
yokes on the necks of the Unbelievers: It would only be a requital for
their (ill) Deeds.
Sura Sabaʾ 34:33 وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتُضْعِفُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ بَلْ مَكْرُ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذْ تَأْمُرُونَنَآ أَن نَّكْفُرَ بِٱللَّـهِ وَنَجْعَلَ لَهُۥٓ أَندَادًا وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّدَامَةَ لَمَّا رَأَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلْأَغْلَٰلَ فِىٓ أَعْنَاقِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ wa-qāla lladhīna istuḍʿifū li-lladhīna istakbarū bal makru l-layli wa-l-nahāri idh taʾmurūnanā an nnakfura billāhi wa-najʿala lahu andādan wa-asarrū l-nadāmata lammā raʾawu l-ʿadhāba wa-jaʿalnā l-aghlāla fī aʿnāqi lladhīna kafarū hal yujzawna illā mā kānū yaʿmalūna Those who had been despised will say to the arrogant ones: "Nay! it was a plot (of yours) by day and by night: Behold! (36:76) | فَلَا يَحْزُنكَ قَوْلُهُمْ إِنَّا نَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ | fa‑lā yaḥzunka qawluhum innā naʿlamu mā yusirrūna wa‑mā yuʿlinūna | Let not their speech, then, grieve thee. Verily We know what
they hide as well as what they disclose.
Sura Yā Sin 36:76 فَلَا يَحْزُنكَ قَوْلُهُمْ إِنَّا نَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ fa-lā yaḥzunka qawluhum innā naʿlamu mā yusirrūna wa-mā yuʿlinūna Let not their speech, then, grieve thee. Verily We know what they hide as well as what they disclose. |
(66:3) | وَإِذْ أَسَرَّ ٱلنَّبِىُّ إِلَىٰ بَعْضِ أَزْوَٰجِهِۦ حَدِيثًا فَلَمَّا نَبَّأَتْ بِهِۦ وَأَظْهَرَهُ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْهِ عَرَّفَ بَعْضَهُۥ وَأَعْرَضَ عَنۢ بَعْضٍ فَلَمَّا نَبَّأَهَا بِهِۦ قَالَتْ مَنْ أَنۢبَأَكَ هَٰذَا قَالَ نَبَّأَنِىَ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٱلْخَبِيرُ | wa‑idh asarra l‑nabiyyu ilā baʿḍi azwājihi ḥadīthan fa‑lammā nabbaʾat bihi wa‑aẓharahu allāhu ʿalayhi ʿarrafa baʿḍahu wa‑aʿraḍa ʿan baʿḍin fa‑lammā nabbaʾahā bihi qālat man anbaʾaka hādhā qalā nabbaʾaniya l‑ʿalīmu l‑khabīru | When the Prophet disclosed a matter in confidence to one of
his consorts, and she then divulged it (to another), and Allah made it known
to him, he confirmed part thereof and repudiated a part. Then when he told
her thereof, she said, "Who told thee this? "He said, "He told me Who knows
and is well-acquainted (with all things)."
Sura al-Taḥrīm 66:3 وَإِذْ أَسَرَّ ٱلنَّبِىُّ إِلَىٰ بَعْضِ أَزْوَٰجِهِۦ حَدِيثًا فَلَمَّا نَبَّأَتْ بِهِۦ وَأَظْهَرَهُ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْهِ عَرَّفَ بَعْضَهُۥ وَأَعْرَضَ عَنۢ بَعْضٍ فَلَمَّا نَبَّأَهَا بِهِۦ قَالَتْ مَنْ أَنۢبَأَكَ هَٰذَا قَالَ نَبَّأَنِىَ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٱلْخَبِيرُ wa-idh asarra l-nabiyyu ilā baʿḍi azwājihi ḥadīthan fa-lammā nabbaʾat bihi wa-aẓharahu allāhu ʿalayhi ʿarrafa baʿḍahu wa-aʿraḍa ʿan baʿḍin fa-lammā nabbaʾahā bihi qālat man anbaʾaka hādhā qalā nabbaʾaniya l-ʿalīmu l-khabīru When the Prophet disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his consorts, and she then divulged it (to another), and Allah made it known to him, he confirmed part thereof and repudiated a part. Then when he told her thereof, she said, "Who told thee this? "He said, "He told me Who knows and is well-acquainted (with all things)." |
