Sura al-Baqara 2:27

ٱلَّذِينَ يَنقُضُونَ عَهْدَ ٱللَّـهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مِيثَٰقِهِۦ وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّـهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ

lladhīna yanquḍūna ʿahda allāhi min baʿdi mīthāqihi wa-yaqṭaʿūna mā amara allāhu bihi an yūṣala wa-yufsidūna fī l-arḍi ulāʾika humu l-khāsirūna

Those who break Allah's Covenant after it is ratified, and who sunder what Allah Has ordered to be joined, and do mischief on earth: These cause loss (only) to themselves.

Sura al-Baqara 2:121

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَتْلُونَهُۥ حَقَّ تِلَاوَتِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِهِۦ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ

lladhīna ātaynāhumu l-kitāba yatlūnahu ḥaqqa tilāwatihi ulāʾika yuʾminūna bihi wa-man yakfur bihi fa-ūlāʾika humu l-khāsirūna

Those to whom We have sent the Book study it as it should be studied: They are the ones that believe therein: Those who reject faith therein,- the loss is their own.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:90

وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ لَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتُمْ شُعَيْبًا إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّخَٰسِرُونَ

wa-qāla l-malaʾu lladhīna kafarū min qawmihi laʾini ittabaʿtum shuʿayban innakum idhan la-khāsirūna

The leaders, the unbelievers among his people, said: "If ye follow Shu'aib, be sure then ye are ruined!"

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:99

أَفَأَمِنُوا۟ مَكْرَ ٱللَّـهِ فَلَا يَأْمَنُ مَكْرَ ٱللَّـهِ إِلَّا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ

a-fa-aminū makra allāhi fa-lā yamanu makra allāhi illā l-qawmu l-khāsirūna

Did they then feel secure against the plan of Allah?- but no one can feel secure from the Plan of Allah, except those (doomed) to ruin!

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:178

مَن يَهْدِ ٱللَّـهُ فَهُوَ ٱلْمُهْتَدِى وَمَن يُضْلِلْ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ

man yahdi allāhu fa-huwa al-muhtadī wa-man yuḍlil fa-ūlāʾika humu l-khāsirūna

Whom Allah doth guide,- he is on the right path: whom He rejects from His guidance,- such are the persons who perish.

Sura al-Anfāl 8:37

لِيَمِيزَ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلْخَبِيثَ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبِ وَيَجْعَلَ ٱلْخَبِيثَ بَعْضَهُۥ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فَيَرْكُمَهُۥ جَمِيعًا فَيَجْعَلَهُۥ فِى جَهَنَّمَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ

li-yamīza allāhu l-khabītha mina l-ṭayyibi wa-yajʿala l-khabītha baʿḍahu ʿalā baʿḍin fa-yarkumahu jamīʿan fa-yajʿalahu fī jahannama ulāʾika humu l-khāsirūna

In order that Allah may separate the impure from the pure, put the impure, one on another, heap them together, and cast them into Hell. They will be the ones to have lost.

Sura al-Tawbah 9:69

كَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ كَانُوٓا۟ أَشَدَّ مِنكُمْ قُوَّةً وَأَكْثَرَ أَمْوَٰلًا وَأَوْلَٰدًا فَٱسْتَمْتَعُوا۟ بِخَلَٰقِهِمْ فَٱسْتَمْتَعْتُم بِخَلَٰقِكُمْ كَمَا ٱسْتَمْتَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُم بِخَلَٰقِهِمْ وَخُضْتُمْ كَٱلَّذِى خَاضُوٓا۟ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْأَخِرَةِ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ

kalladhīna min qablikum kānū ashadda minkum quwwatan wa-akthara amwālan wa-awlādan fa-istamtaʿū bi-khalāqihim fa-istamtaʿtum bikhalāqikum ka-mā istamtaʿa lladhīna min qablikum bi-khalāqihim wa-khuḍtum ka-lladhī khāḍū ulāʾika ḥabiṭat aʿmāluhum fī l-dunyā wa-l-akhirati wa-ūlāʾika humu l-khāsirūna

As in the case of those before you: they were mightier than you in power, and more flourishing in wealth and children. They had their enjoyment of their portion: and ye have of yours, as did those before you; and ye indulge in idle talk as they did. They!- their work are fruitless in this world and in the Hereafter, and they will lose (all spiritual good).

Sura Hūd 11:22

لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَخِرَةِ هُمُ ٱلْأَخْسَرُونَ

lā jarama annahum fī l-akhirati humu l-akhsarūna

Without a doubt, these are the very ones who will lose most in the Hereafter!

Sura Yūsuf 12:14

قَالُوا۟ لَئِنْ أَكَلَهُ ٱلذِّئْبُ وَنَحْنُ عُصْبَةٌ إِنَّآ إِذًا لَّخَٰسِرُونَ

qālū lain akalahu l-dhiʾbu wa-naḥnu ʿuṣbatun innā idhan la-khāsirūna

They said: "If the wolf were to devour him while we are (so large) a party, then should we indeed (first) have perished ourselves!"

Sura al-Naḥl 16:109

لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَخِرَةِ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ

lā jarama annahum fī l-akhirati humu l-khāsirūna

Without doubt, in the Hereafter they will perish.

Sura al-Ḥajj 22:11

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَعْبُدُ ٱللَّـهَ عَلَىٰ حَرْفٍ فَإِنْ أَصَابَهُۥ خَيْرٌ ٱطْمَأَنَّ بِهِۦ وَإِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ فِتْنَةٌ ٱنقَلَبَ عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِۦ خَسِرَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْأَخِرَةَ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْخُسْرَانُ ٱلْمُبِينُ

wa-mina l-nāsi man yaʿbudu allāha ʿalā ḥarfin fa-in aṣābahu khayrun iṭmaʾanna bihi wa-in aṣābathu fitnatun inqalaba ʿalā wajhihi khasira l-dunyā wa-l-akhirata dhālika huwa l-khusrānu l-mubīnu

There are among men some who serve Allah, as it were, on the verge: if good befalls them, they are, therewith, well content; but if a trial comes to them, they turn on their faces: they lose both this world and the Hereafter: that is loss for all to see!

Sura al-Muʾminūn 23:34

وَلَئِنْ أَطَعْتُم بَشَرًا مِّثْلَكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّخَٰسِرُونَ

wa-lain aṭaʿtum basharan mithlakum innakum idhan la-khāsirūna

"If ye obey a man like yourselves, behold, it is certain ye will be lost.

Sura al-Naml 27:5

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَهُمْ سُوٓءُ ٱلْعَذَابِ وَهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَخِرَةِ هُمُ ٱلْأَخْسَرُونَ

ulāʾika lladhīna lahum sūu l-ʿadhābi wa-hum fī l-akhirati humu l-akhsarūna

Such are they for whom a grievous Penalty is (waiting); and in the Hereafter theirs will be the greatest loss.

Sura al-ʿAnkabūt 29:52

قُلْ كَفَىٰ بِٱللَّـهِ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكُمْ شَهِيدًا يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ وَكَفَرُوا۟ بِٱللَّـهِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ

qul kafā billāhi baynī wa-baynakum shahīdan yaʿlamu mā fī l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi wa-lladhīna āmanū bil-bāṭili wa-kafarū billāhi ulāʾika humu l-khāsirūna

Say: "Enough is Allah for a witness between me and you: He knows what is in the heavens and on earth. And it is those who believe in vanities and reject Allah, that will perish (in the end).

Sura al-Zumar 39:15

فَٱعْبُدُوا۟ مَا شِئْتُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَهْلِيهِمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ أَلَا ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْخُسْرَانُ ٱلْمُبِينُ

fa-iʿbudū mā shiʾtum min dūnihi qul inna l-khāsirīna lladhīna khasirū anfusahum wa-ahlīhim yawma l-qiyāmati āla dhālika huwa l-khusrānu l-mubīnu

"Serve ye what ye will besides him." Say: "Truly, those in loss are those who lose their own souls and their People on the Day of Judgment: Ah! that is indeed the (real and) evident Loss!

Sura al-Zumar 39:63

لَّهُۥ مَقَالِيدُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّـهِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ

lahu maqālīdu l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi wa-lladhīna kafarū bi-āyāti allāhi ulāʾika humu l-khāsirūna

To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth: and those who reject the Signs of Allah,- it is they who will be in loss.

Sura al-Mujādilah 58:19

ٱسْتَحْوَذَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ فَأَنسَىٰهُمْ ذِكْرَ ٱللَّـهِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ حِزْبُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ أَلَآ إِنَّ حِزْبَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ

staḥwadha ʿalayhimu l-shayṭānu faansahum dhikra allāhi ulāʾika ḥizbu l-shayṭāni āla inna ḥizba l-shayṭāni humu l-khāsirūna

The Evil One has got the better of them: so he has made them lose the remembrance of Allah. They are the Party of the Evil One. Truly, it is the Party of the Evil One that will perish!

Sura al-Munāfiqūn 63:9

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تُلْهِكُمْ أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُكُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱللَّـهِ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ

yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū lā tulhikum amwālukum wa-lā awlādukum ʿan dhikri allāhi wa-man yafʿal dhālika fa-ūlāʾika humu l-khāsirūna

O ye who believe! Let not your riches or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. If any act thus, the loss is their own.
