Sura al-Mursalāt 77:2

فَٱلْعَٰصِفَٰتِ عَصْفًا

fa-l-ʿāṣifāti ʿaṣfan

Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts,

Sura al-Mursalāt 77:3

وَٱلنَّٰشِرَٰتِ نَشْرًا

wa-l-nāshirāti nashran

And scatter (things) far and wide;

Sura al-Mursalāt 77:4

فَٱلْفَٰرِقَٰتِ فَرْقًا

fa-l-fāriqāti farqan

Then separate them, one from another,

Sura al-Mursalāt 77:5

فَٱلْمُلْقِيَٰتِ ذِكْرًا

fa-l-mulqiyāti dhikran

Then spread abroad a Message,

Sura al-Mursalāt 77:6

عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا

ʿudhran aw nudhran

Whether of Justification or of Warning;-

Sura al-Mursalāt 77:7

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٌ

innamā tūʿadūna la-wāqiʿun

Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass.

Sura al-Mursalāt 77:8

فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ

fa-idhā l-nujūmu ṭumisat

Then when the stars become dim;

Sura al-Mursalāt 77:9

وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتْ

wa-idhā l-samāʾu furijat

When the heaven is cleft asunder;

Sura al-Mursalāt 77:10

وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ

wa-idhā l-jibālu nusifat

When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust;

Sura al-Mursalāt 77:11

وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ

wa-idhā l-rusulu uqqitat

And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);-

Sura al-Mursalāt 77:12

لِأَىِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ

li-ayyi yawmin ujjilat

For what Day are these (portents) deferred?
